Squirrels are chewers and this can cause a host of problems including damage to birdfeeders, decks, and even building structures. The most destructive damage occurs when they chew on electrical power lines. It has been well documented that their chewing habits have caused fires. Squirrels’ teeth grow continuously. Their incisors will grow six inches per year, but stay short due to the constant wear they receive by chewing. Squirrels cause damage by nesting in buildings, digging in lawns, eating ornamental plants and bulbs, and stealing food from bird feeders.
Squirrels eat nuts, leaves, roots, seeds, and plants. They may uproot plants in your flower boxes and flower gardens attempting to bury nuts and seeds. Squirrels hide their extra nuts in the soil, under logs, and under leaves in “stores”. Then they hunt for them when they get hungry, following the smell of good food buried in nice soft soil, and they just naturally dig there. You can prevent some of this digging by spraying BOBBEX-R Animal Repellent.
How to identify damage from a squirrel:
Damage may occur in your lawn and gardens due to pilfering squirrels uprooting your plants and flowers. Look for chew marks on your deck and home structure as well.
How to spray BOBBEX-R to deter squirrels:
Bobbex-R Animal Repellent is a foliar spray. Apply directly on the leaf, stem, and root system of the plant. Spraying on and around your flowerboxes may also be a deterrent. Be sure to soak the root system of the plant. Spraying Bobbex-R on your birdfeeders may also help to deter the squirrels from stealing your birdseed. Remember, BOBBEX-R Animal Repellent is all natural, environmentally friendly, and will not harm humans, pets, birds or aquatic life. Most importantly, it will not wash off!
Bobbex-R Animal Repellent makes a great bulb dip program to prevent burrowing squirrels from smelling and discovering your wintered bulbs. Using Bobbex-R as a bulb protector will give your bulbs a chance to survive when first planted and throughout the winter. Squirrels use their keen sense of smell to find roots and bulbs underground. Bobbex-R creates an aromatic barrier around the bulb and prevents these animals from discovering the bulb. Simply follow these instructions:
Remove all loose and dried plant tissue around the bulbs
Dip bulbs in straight concentrated Bobbex-R Animal Repellent (right out of the bottle). Allow bulbs to soak for 3 to 5 minutes.
Remove bulbs from concentrate and allow them to air dry.
